BEET ROOT SMOOTHIE
Beet
root smoothie is a wonderful health drink for all except a few groups with
serious kidney diseases and high blood sugar levels. Everyone else ,including mildly diabetic may take
beetroot smoothie twice in a week. On other days you may take other smoothies. This
smoothie is rich in beta carotenes, vitamin A and C ,fibers , minerals like
potassium, magnesium, manganese etc.

Preparation
The
preparation of beet root smoothie is so easy. You may have to just
Add all the ingredients to a blender and mix
well. Smoothie is ready.
Blue berries if added to the smoothie, it may make it more nutritious and tasty. However, we can make beet root smoothie without blue berries, as it may not be available on all parts of the world. In that case, you may add mango or pineapple pieces while you blend the smoothie. To make the smoothie tastier you may add 1tbs maple syrup also. This is also optional.
This beet root smoothie is made using precooked beet roots. If you use raw one it would not be a palatable smoothie. So enjoy a yummy beetroot smoothie with added flavors of blue berries or other optional ingredients added.
Beetroots have high amount of fiber and help in digestion & lowering LDL cholesterol. Beets mainly consist of water (87%), carbs (8%), and fiber (2–3%).It also contains Protein [1.6 grams].Raw or cooked beetroot offers about 8–10% carbs.
Beetroots
have a glycemic index (GI) score of 61, which is considered medium. Glycemic load of beetroots
is only 4, which is very low. This means that beetroots should not have a major
effect on blood sugar levels because the total carb amount in each serving is low.
However, it is not recommended as a morning drink for people with very high
blood sugar levels and diabetic complications.
