Apple cider vinegar 

   Apple cider vinegar is prepared by fermentation of crushed apples. It has antimicrobial and antioxidant properties. The polyphenols found in this are mainly polyphenolic acid derivatives and other flavonoids. Chlorogenic acid is the most abundant phenolic substance in it.

Gallic acid, catechin, epicatechin, caffeic acid, and p-coumaric acid are present in low levels.

Maceration and other production methods can significantly affect the chemical composition, total antioxidant activity, acidity, and phenolic content of apple cider vinegar.

Apple cider vinegar is one of the major ingredients of vegetable salads and non-vegetarian snacks and some health drinks.

A few recipes incorporating apple cider vinegar are listed below:

   According to Harvard health publishing, a few studies suggest that vinegar might prevent spikes in blood sugar in people with prediabetes and type 2 diabetes.

A small study shows that it has fat lowering effect and helps weigh loss. However extensive research is needed to confirm the efficacy of apple cider vinegar in weight loss.

 

Apple cider vinegar rinse for shiny glossy hair

Apple cider vinegar is used for hair rinsing after diluting with water. This rinsing can help to close follicles and give your hair the natural shine and strength.

Apple cider vinegar can improve scalp health due to its antibacterial and antifungal properties. Due to its scalp cleansing property it may help to improve the health of hair follicles and thus aid in reducing hair loss.It can also help to balance the Ph of your scalp.

How to use apple cider vinegar on your hair &scalp?

1.      Mix 100 ml of apple cider vinegar to 500 ml of water first. Now you may mix it well and add to a spray bottle.

2.      Spray this solution on your scalp thoroughly   to cover the entire scalp and hair.

3.      Gently massage scalp with your fingers allowing apple cider vinegar solution to clean the scalp.

4.      Allow the solution to rest on your hair and scalp for only 5-10 minutes. Never more than that.

5.      Rinse your hair and scalp with cold water and conditioner.

6.      Rinse your hair well to drain away all these products from scalp and hair.

7.      Air dry your hair.

8.      Over use may cause dryness and irritation of hair. It is recommended to use only in diluted form at long intervals.


Cautions & safety while using apple cider vinegar

  Apple cider vinegar has to be taken only in the diluted form in small amounts.

Its high acidity can damage tooth enamel while sipping. Therefore dilute it always before consumption.

 It can lower potassium levels in your body. Therefore, people suffering from low potassium or heart diseases related to it should not consume apple cider vinegar.

 Apple cider vinegar may cause untoward drug interaction with drugs lowering blood sugar such as insulin.

People having allergies to apples may experience allergic reactions to apple cider vinegar.
