Argentum metallicum

Constitution

Tall thin people with irritable temperament. Constitutional effects of onanism;

Indications

 Joint & cartilage

 Argentum metallicum is a remedy with marked action on cartilages of joints, tarsal, ears, nose, Eustachia. Tearing bruised pain and tenderness of joints is marked.

Pain in rib cartilages, particularly on left side.

Stiffness, numbness with electric shock like pains in joints. Restless sleep due to pain.

Articular rheumatism without swelling.

Brain fag &headache

This remedy is also indicated for brain fag. Left sided headache.

Headache from mental agitation, mental exertion, nursing the sick. confusion; intoxicated feeling; pressing tearing pain in head.

Aggravated by pressure, better in open air.it is indicated for migraine also

Eye

Stricture of lachrymal duct, swelling and redness at the edge of eyelids.

Nose

Epistaxis after blowing the nose. Violent coryza  with chronic frequent sneezing- inflammation of nasal mucosa; Rhinitis

Oral cavity

Dryness of mouth with viscid saliva.

Vesicles on tongue with burning pain of excoriation.

Male sexual

Bad effects of onanism, bruised pain in testes. Spermatorrhoea with out erection after onanism. Erectile dysfunction.

Female sexual

Uterine prolapse with pain in left ovary.

Climacteric  haemorrhage.

Larynx &trachea

Hoarseness of professional singers, public speakers (Alum., Arum. t.) is a prominent indication for this remedy. Total loss of voice of professional singers.

Throat and larynx feel raw or sore on swallowing or coughing.

Pain in larynx <by coughing.

Sensation of rawness in larynx.

Laughing excites cough (Dros., Phos., Stan.) and produces profuse mucus in larynx.

Cough  with easy expectoration of gelatinous, viscid mucus, looking like boiled starch. While reading aloud the person may have to hem and hawk;

Great weakness of the chest (Stan.); worse left side.  

 Raw spot over bifurcation of the trachea. worse when using voice, talking or singing.

Neck &back

Cramp like pain in shoulders and scapula. Tensive pain in arms and hands.

Limbs

Jerking pain in muscles of thighs; cramps in calves of legs.

General characteristics:

Ailments from onanism.

Bad effects of sun stroke

Mental characteristics:

Argentum metallicum is a restless, ill-humoured persona who walks quickly .However extreme hilarity at joyous situations; lachrymose mood from trifles.

Mania or rage also has been noticed in argentum particularly after epilepsy.

Aversion to food or appetite increased.

Aggravation from pressure, cramp like pains particularly.

Aggravation after riding in a carriage, talking, singing, reading aloud

Anxious dreams with night sweat and shuddering.

Follows well: after, Alum.

 Similar: to, Stan. in cough excited by laughing
